Professor Mike Kagioglou

Dean - School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment

It is my pleasure to see the innovation and excellence in the work of our students. As a previous PhD student myself I recognise the significant effort and sacrifice it takes to progress and complete research studies.

I welcome you all to the web page and I hope you are able to see the amazing work presented and engage with the work in a variety of ways.

I wanted to congratulate our students for their excellent work and also for their contributions to the various disciplines across the disciplines served in the school. Truly unlimited potential!

Professor Vivian Wy Tam

Associate Dean - Research and HDR

Welcome to the Western Higher Degree Research community.

Congratulations to the students on reaching this far, however, this only marks the beginning of new and even bigger chapters of their careers as a researcher and a discoverer. I hope you all continue to be diligent, thorough, and curious; this will help you achieve your goals.

However, Thomas Edison once said, “Genius is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration” and hard work is the key to getting you there. With hard work, one cannot forget patience and “never say never” attitude! I wish all the best of luck in your exciting journey and remember, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Happy discovering!
